Once sufficient information has been obtained in the evaluation process, a detailed treatment plan is formulated including the kind and amount of therapy needed. Many families will obtain all or part of their child’s therapeutic program at The McCarton Center, with it’s full staff of board certified therapists, while others may choose treatment outside the Center.
Treatment at The McCarton Center
The treatment plan at The McCarton Center may include therapy in any of the following areas: Speech & Language, Occupational Therapy and Sensory Integration, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), and will often combine multiple disciplines in an integrated approach. Therapy sessions are primarily one on one; sometimes sessions are conducted in small groups, so as to enable children to learn social skills and group dynamics.
Parents’ need for training and/or support will also be included in the plan, as well as scheduled times for interdisciplinary meetings to keep the program updated as the child begins to make progress.
